The shrinkage of denim is much larger than that of ordinary fabrics because of its heavy weight. In the finishing workshop of the weaving factory before garment making, the denim has been pre shrunk and shaped, but this is only the first step of shrinkage treatment. Before putting the paper sample, the garment factory also needs to measure the shrinkage of the finished cloth again to determine the size of each cutting piece when putting the paper sample. Generally, the shrinkage of all cotton denim will be about 2% after garment making (depending on different fabrics and different organizational structures), and the elastic denim will be larger, usually up to 10% or more. Jeans should be wearable, and it is very important that they shrink and set in the washing plant.
